Entrepreneurship has always been a passion for Laura. Growing up in a family business she learned the true dedication it takes to be an entrepreneur. She stives to help businesses succeed by making informed financial decisions.

With 15 years of experience as a Chartered Accountant, Laura has honed her skill in the public, NFP sectors, and private business. Her company, Financial Organized, puts her passion for entrepreneurship into practice, offering financial services to strengthen small businesses and NFP organizations. Offering bookkeeping and financial catch-up services, budget and financial report preparation, and financial training and system set-up, Laura’s professionalism, expertise and caring combine to help organizations thrive.

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF KAWARTHA LAKES (CFKL)

Laurie joined the Community Foundation in January 2023 to lead the expansion of CFKL’s operation, footprint and community impact. She delights in connecting generous donors to the many meaningful local initiatives and charitable organizations ensuring a tangible difference to the lives of those living in the Kawartha Lakes.

Laurie brings 20 years experience in the private sector including 12 years as Partner / VP strategy roles at major advertising agencies as well as 8 years as an e-commerce management consultant from IBM Canada. Laurie is a board member of the Kawarthas Northhumberland Regional Tourism Board (RT08). She has a BA in Economics and MBA and is bilingual in English and French.

Netmechanics was created to assist small businesses on their cyber security journey, beginning with assessments and analyzing their risks and security maturity, followed by the development of their cyber security program to maintain compliance and gain competitive advantage.

Graeme discovered his curiosity for computers at an early age using a Tandy TRS-80 at a public library. That interest turned passion was fueled by his inquisitive nature and the drive to understand how things work. He’s been involved in information security and governance of enterprise information technology for over 20 years. His work has taken him across North America, speaking at events, and receiving training from numerous organizations, including the RCMP in operational security.

Marcelo founded Prima IP having practiced for 26 years at a leading intellectual property boutique firm and an internationally renowned multi-disciplinary law firm. Prima IP aims to provide quality intellectual property advice and services to multinationals, SMEs, start-ups and individual entrepreneurs with a focus on value.

Marcelo has extensive experience in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications and industrial designs in the pharmaceutical, chemical, oil and gas, medical device and mechanical areas and has advised clients on the procurement, management and assessment of intellectual property rights. His company, Prima IP is an ecosystem partner with offices in the Launch Kawartha space.
